In the town square of Old Mesilla, New Mexico is a souvenir shop that boasts the historical significance of having been the courthouse in 1881 where Billy the Kid was jailed, tried, convicted & sentenced to hang. He escaped to meet his fate at a later date in another place.
As this painting of the benches in the town square (see reference photo) was in progress, an image weirdly manifested itself, which struck a likeness to Billy the Kid on a horse. And so I left the ghostly apparition as it appeared. That's how OLD MESILLA BENCHES became OLD MESILLA REVISITED by Billy the Kid In Spirit. dv/2012 |
