SPORTS TRIPTYCH
PRIVATE COLLECTION
I honestly have no agenda. The creative force drives me. The challenge incites. I enjoy the process of painting more than the end product. When somebody likes my painting, I am honored. When somebody buys my painting, I am humbled. I don’t know if any artist ever achieves a level of satisfaction with his/her own work. For me, each new painting commands me to strive to do better on the next and the learning curve is infinite and no painting is ever finished until it gets out of my tweaking reach.
Unless a painting has a specific story to tell, I don’t describe my work. I let each piece of work speak for itself and hope the viewer might understand its visual language to derive at his/her own meaning that makes it a personal, even intimate communication.
Favorite artists, living and otherwise:
Kyle Polzin George Hallmark Morgan Weistling
Jeff Legg Jeanne Leemon Nancy Howe
Thomas Moran Caravaggio J W Waterhouse . . .
. . . the list goes on.
